The delegation led by Zheng Bijian, former Executive Vice President of Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, visit the CEIBS

    The delegation led by Zheng Bijian, former Executive Vice President of Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, visited Central Europe on February 10. CEIBS President Zhu Xiaoming and Vice President and Co-Dean Zhang Weijiong accompanied Mr. Zheng to inspect facilities on the new campus, who was amazed at the lately completed Conference Centre: "This building is not just about thinking ahead; it is a pioneer in style design."

    Mr. Zheng visited Shanghai and attended the inauguration assembly of the Shanghai Institute for Reform, Innovation & Development Strategy. As Chairman of the CIIDS, he would concurrently be honorary Chairman of the SIRIDS. CEIBS President Zhu Xiaoming was invited to serve as President of the SIRIDS. The mission of the SIRIDS was to study the strategic issues of economic and social reform, innovation and development of Shanghai, including the strategies, engines, mechanisms and the environment, seeking academic outcomes and policy recommendations.

    During luncheon talks, Mr. Zheng acknowledged Mr. Zhu’s commitment to research on the technological innovation model and approach. He believed that technological innovation was a pillar for higher social productivity and the overall national strength. At the same time, he mentioned China’s growing role in building a new international political and economic order. The CIIDS is launching an initiative called "Understanding China," exposing other countries to know China better for closer cooperation. He wished the CEIBS to become a business school with global influence as soon as possible, organizing more innovation and entrepreneurial activities and producing advice on national development. During the visit, Mr. Zheng autographed an inscription for the CEIBS, which read "a platform for mass entrepreneurship."

    At the end of the visit, President Zhu presented souvenirs of CEIBS’s twentieth anniversary and the newly published school history to Chairman Zheng.
