China Sciences and Humanities Forum

Introduction
Founded in April 2003, the China Sciences and Humanities Forum was jointly initiated by renowned Chinese scientist Lu Yongxiang, and influential political strategist Zheng Bijian. It is co-hosted by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and the Higher Education Press. The Forum invites senior Chinese government leaders, foreign politicians and eminent scholars and experts from China and overseas, to engage in extensive and in-depth academic discussions and exchanges on a variety of issues ranging from politics, science and technology, economy, diplomacy, environment, social development to advancement of civilization; to study national strategic issues from the perspectives of science and humanities, and to discuss the development of science and humanities from the perspective of national strategy. The Forum is dedicated to enhancing interaction between and integration of sciences and humanities. Since the beginning, the Forum attracted the participation of young students and people from different backgrounds including science and technology, humanities and social sciences, education, party and political organizations and enterprises. The atmosphere has always been very lively during question and answer session of forum events with passionate academic exchanges and interactions. The Forum also drew wide attention from academia and media, and achieved great social influence. The academic activities of the Forum have been widely covered in mainstream media outlets such as China Central Television, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, China News Agency, Jiefang Daily, Wen Wei Po, Science and Technology Daily, China Youth Daily, Science Times, Phoenix TV, and China Education Television. Such activities also caught the eye of Hong Kong media and Chinese language media in New York. In the future, the Forum will maintain its characteristic as a platform for high-caliber exchange and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation from the theoretical and ideological perspective.
