“Understanding China” Documentary Series and Online Videos

The “Understanding China” Documentary Series is curated by China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy (CIIDS) and to be produced by the main production team behind The Rise of the Great Powers and the documentary team at the Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio. The series consists of an English-language international edition and a Chinese edition, and each edition has six 50-minute episodes.

The Documentary series intends to trace the history of the three waves of economic globalization and the major twists and turns in Chinese history during these periods. Through side-by-side observations of China and the world during the economic globalization process in the four centuries, the documentary series aims to present a contemporary reflection on the questions of “Where are we from? Where are we going?”

The Documentary will be broadcast in domestic and international mainstream media and online media  in 2019 and 2020.
