The Signing Ceremony of the Grand Political Documentary "Understanding China" Was Held at CIIDS

On November 28, 2018, Wang Boyong, vice chairman of and secretary-general of CIIDS met with Xie Jiuru, president assistant, deputy editor-in-chief of China Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio, and head of Beijing Science and Education Film Studio and his team at CIIDS. The two sides exchanged views and reached consensus on the production arrangement, technical support and post-production guarantee of the large-scale political TV documentary--"Understanding China".

After that, Feng Wei, vice chairman and executive vice secretary-general of CIIDS, and President Xie Jiuru signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides.

"Understanding China" documentary series is a large-scale TV documentary series planned by CIIDS and produced by Beijing Science and Education Film Studio, an audio-visual publishing house. The documentary series intends to focus on China’s new measures of peaceful development as the world enters a new stage of economic globalization and faces new problems. It traces the history of the three waves of economic globalization and the major twists and turns in Chinese history during the three periods of globalization. It features typical events and important time periods in the world and Chinese history as well as important figures that were influential to the historical developments so as to present history from different aspects. The documentary aims to tell China story and showcase Chinese thinking, Chinese wisdom and Chinese value.

Mou Weimin, executive deputy secretary-general of CIIDS, Huang Wei, chief director and producer of the documentary "Understanding China", Wen Ya, president assistant of Beijing Science and Education Film Studio, and other officials attended the signing ceremony.
