Huang Kunming Addressed Opening Ceremony of Understanding China Guangzhou Conference and Read President Xi Jinping's Congratulatory Message to the Conference

Understanding China Guangzhou Conference opened in Guangzhou on Oct 26th, 2019. Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee addressed the opening ceremony and read the congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping.

Huang Kunming said that Xi’s congratulatory letter clearly showed the trend of global development, pointed out that economic globalization is unstoppable, and reiterated China’s commitment to peaceful development, to the win-win strategy of opening-up, and to make economic globalization work of all. Fully reflected in the congratulatory message is China’s determination to advance reform and opening-up, and its confidence and resolve in contributing more to the world.

Huang stressed that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The past 70 years have been a momentous journey for the Chinese people. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, we have forged ahead against all odds and developed a path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, one that fits China’s realities and meets the wishes of its people. Understand China is first about understanding China’s path of development. This is a path to independence and success through hard work and perseverance. This is a path to socialist modernization through reform and innovation based on China’s own realities. This is a path to a happier life for all by putting people first. This is a path to social progress under CPC leadership through the Party’s self-reform. This is a path to peaceful development and win-win based on equality in the interest of a shared future for all humanity. We will continue to forge ahead and create the future along this path, and make new contributions to enhancing the well-being of the world's people and building a community of shared future for mankind.

Li Xi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Party Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, addressed the conference and delivered a keynote speech.
