Zheng BijianChairman

Born in Fushun, Sichuan Province in 1932, joined the Communist Party of China (the “CPC”) in 1952 and completed his graduate studies in the Department of Political Economy at Renmin University of China (RUC) in 1954. Since the 3rd Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, he has held the following positions successively: Head of the CCCPC Party Literature Research Office, Commissioner of the Research Section of the CCCPC Secretariat, Political Assistant to CPC General Secretary Hu Yaobang, Deputy Director-general of China Center for International Studies under the State Council, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (concurrently Director of the Research Institute for Marxism, Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought at the Academy), Executive Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of CPC, Executive Deputy President of the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, and Chairman of the China Reform Forum.

Ye XiaowenSenior Advisor

Born in 1950, Mr. Ye consecutively assumed the positions of Secretary of the Guizhou Communist Youth League Committee (CYLC), Vice Head of the United Front Work Department (UFWD) of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, Deputy Secretary-General of the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF), Director of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of the CCCPC UFWD, Director and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the State Administration of Religious Affairs, and First Vice President and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Central Institute of Socialism. He is currently member of the 12th National Committee of CPPCC, Vice Head of the CPPCC Committee of Learning and Cultural and Historical Data, representative of the 15th, 16th and 17th CPC National Congresses and alternative member of the 16th and 17th CPC Central Committee.

Bai ChunliSenior Advisor

Dr. Bai, Manchu, born in Liaoning in 1953, consecutively assumed the offices of Vice President, member of the Party Leadership Group, Executive Vice President, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group (the ministerial level) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is currently President and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the CAS, Executive Chairman of the CAS Academic Divisions (CASAD), President of the CAS-TWAS, alternate member of the 15th, 16th and 17th CPC Central Committee and member of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Wu HailongSenior Advisor

Mr. Wu was born in 1955. After graduation from university, he consecutively assumed Counselor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) at the Chinese Embassy in the State of Israel, Deputy Director General of the MFA Department of International Organizations and Conferences (DIOC), Deputy Commissioner at the Office of the Commissioner of the MFA in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Permanent Representative of China to the UN Office (Vienna) and Other International Organizations, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of China to the UNIDO, Permanent Representative of China to the IAEA, Director General of the MFA-DIOC, Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Chinese Mission to the EU, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Chinese Mission to the UN Office (Geneva) and Other International Organizations (Swiss).

Zhang GuobaoSenior Advisor

Mr. Zhang, Master of Engineering and Senior Engineer, consecutively assumed Deputy Director General, Deputy Secretary General and Deputy Director of the Investment Department of the National Planning Commission, Office Head of the State Council Leadership Group of the Revitalization of Northeast China and Other Old Industrial Bases, First Political Commissar of the CAPF Gold Force, Vice Chairman and member of the Party Leadership Group of the NDRC, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Administrator (at the ministerial level) of the National Energy Administration (NEA).

Chen XiaogongSenior Advisor

Mr. Chen was born in Rongcheng, Shandong, in 1949. He was General Staff Officer, Deputy Director and Secretary of the Intelligence Department of the PLA-GSD, UNMO to the Iraq-Kuwait border, Armed Forces Attache of China Embassy in Egypt, Defense Attache of China Embassy in the U.S., Vice Minister in charge of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, Head of the Intelligence Department of the PLA-GSD, Assistant to Chief of the General Staff, and Deputy Commander of the PLA Air Force. Being a representative of the 11th and 12th CPC National Congresses, he is currently an air marshal and member of the 12th NPC Foreign Affairs Committee.

Lin YifuSenior Advisor

Born in Yilan of Taiwan in 1952, graduated as an M.A., Mr. Lin took the positions of Deputy General of Development & Research Institute, and Vice Minister of Rual Department, Rural Development & Research Center of the State Council; Director of the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) of Peking University, Vice Chairman of the ACFIC and Senior Vice President of the World Bank. He is currently Full-time Vice Chairman of the ACFIC, Vice Chairman of China Civilian Chamber of Commerce, Professor and Honorary Dean of National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University. Mr. Lin is a member of the 7th to 10th CPPCC National Committees, representative of the 11th NPC, and a Standing Committee member and Vice Director of the Economic Committee of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

Zhou WenzhongSenior Advisor

Born in Jiangsu in 1945, Mr. Zhou is a university graduate. He was Deputy Consul General of China in San Francisco, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Barbados and to Antigua and Barbuda, Deputy Director General of the MFA Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, Consul General (Ambassadorial Rank) of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the China Embassy to the U.S., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to the Commonwealth of Australia, Assistant and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to the United States of America. He is currently Secretary General of Boao Forum for Asia, Vice President of the China-US People’s Friendship Association, and a standing member of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.

Liu ChuanzhiSenior Advisor

Founder and honorary Chairman of the Lenovo Group and Vice Chairman of the 8th and 9th ACFIC Executive Committees, Mr. Liu is currently Chairman of the Lenovo Group Holdings Co., Ltd., Chairman of the China Entrepreneur Club (CEC), and Member of the Advisory Board of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, also representative of the 16th and 17th CPC National Congresses and the 9th to 11th NPC.

General Ge was Chief of the General Staff of the 39th Group Army, Corps Commander of the 64th Group Army, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Commander of the PLA Shenyang Military Region, Vice President of the PLA National Defense University, and President and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Academy of Military Sciences. He is currently Deputy Director member of the NPC Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee and member of the 16th and 17th CPC Central Committee.

Ms. Fu was Director General of the MFA Department of Asian Affairs, Ambassador of China to the Philippines, Australia and the United Kingdom, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. She is currently Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the NPC Standing Committee.

Li JunruExecutive Vice Chairman

Mr. Li was Associate President of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS), Director of the SASS Research Center of Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, Deputy Director of the Theoretical Studies Bureau of the CCCPC Publicity Department, Deputy Director General of the CCCPC Party History Research Office, and Vice President of the CCCPC Party School. He is currently Executive President of the CITCPPCC Council and Vice President of the National Council of the China Society for Human Rights Studies. Mr. Li also sat on the 10th CPPCC National Committee and the 11th CPPCC Standing Committee.

Xu WeixinVice Chairman

Born in 1956 in Shandong Province, Xu Weixin is a Ph. D, professor and doctoral supervisor. She successively held the posts of Chairman of Study Times, Vice President and Party Secretary of the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Nature/Philosophy of Nature Science and Technology. She is an expert that enjoys government special allowance for outstanding contributions. She was a member of the eighth and ninth Executive Committee of All-China Women’s Federation.

Zhu MinVice Chairman

Born in 1952 in Shanghai. He is an outstanding alumni of Fudan University, Ph. D in Economics of Johns Hopkins University. He successively held the posts of vice president of Bank of China, party committee member and deputy governor of the People’s Bank of China, and vice president of IMF. He was a nominee of You Bring Charm to the World Award.

Zhou HongVice Chairman

Ms. Zhou was Director of the Institute of European Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Vice President of China National Association for International Studies (CNAIS). She is currently Academic Member of the CASS, Deputy Chair of Division of International Studies, Chair of Chinese Association for European Studies (CNAIS). Ms. Zhou was also a deputy to the 15th CPC National Congress and the 12th NPC.

Deng YongVice Chairman

Born in Yunnan in 1958, Mr. Deng, major in mechanics of solids, sailed through B.A. to Ph.D. and became a professor in Tsinghua University. He was Head of the Student Affairs Department of the CPC Party Committee, Deputy Secretary General and Secretary General of the ACSF, Deputy Director General and Director General of the School Department of the CYLC Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President (Legal Representative) of the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS), and Secretary of the Party Committee of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently Deputy Secretary General of the CAS.

Hao YeliVice Chairman

Ms. Hao, major general, was Director of a research institute and Vice Director General of a department under the PLA-GSD, and is currently a senior advisor of the China International Institute for Strategic Society.

Zhou DadiVice Chairman

Born in 1946, Mr. Zhou was Director General of the NDRC Energy Research Institute, as well as expert adviser and consultant of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the UNEP, the UNDP and other international agencies. He was a co-author of the IPCC’s Second and Third Assessment Reports and fellow of the Working Group of the IPCC’s Fourth and Fifth Assessment Reports.

Huang RenweiVice Chairman

Born in 1954, Dr. Huang has served successively as Vice President of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS), Dean of SASS Research Institute of History and Vice President of the Shanghai Center for International Studies. He is currently Distinguished Research Fellow at the Cross-strait Research Center under the Taiwan Affairs Office of the state Council, member of the Policy Advisory Expert Group of Shanghai Municipality, Vice President of the Shanghai American Society, Vice President of Shanghai Association for International Studies, Vice President of the Shanghai Taiwan Research Society, Executive Director of the All-China American Economic Association, Director and Executive Director of the All-China American Historical Society, Director of Pudong American Economic Research Center, and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Center for International Studies.

Wang BoyongVice Chairman&Secretary General

Born in 1972 in Chenzhou of Hunan Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1992, and is a Ph. D in Management Science of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Wang Boyong was a Deputy Inspector of the General Office of the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, Deputy Inspector of the Regulation Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources, and Executive Vice Secretary General of CIIDS.
